Fresh chippings is probably what makes the difference, I'm just very paranoid -if it can go wrong with livestock it will...
I'm glad it works ok for you guys but personally I'll stick without... though if I had to keep mine in I could see why its tempting! their run gets mushed up so quick! (I do get a lot of water through my garden....)
