Good news...four of my chooks have hatched today 2 Lights Sussex and 2 Faverolles. All one day early!

Caused a bit of a stir as I didn't expect them until tomorrow and didn't have there brooding quarters ready!

To cut a long story short though.....everything is fine now and I'll just have to see if I get any more!

Chuffed to bits with what I've got though!

Yep........... and another one just pipped!

I know they aint supposed to eat or drink for up to 48 hours after they've hatched (apparently they absorb the remians of the yolk before hatching?) but one of them was scranning after an hour!

They have enough yolk left that they can survive for a day or so without eating, but that doesn't mean they CAN'T eat!

I expected NOTHING and got everything I could wish for! (not that it's all over yet, hopefully!)
