Hi, thanks for that, Outgate looks really useful and not too far!
Most grateful!

Can I just add to Flummery's suggestion ... I got my ladies from Outgate Poultry and they're fabulously healthy lovely birds. They are hybrids but I'm sure his pure breeds will be equally good
Glad to hear that T-Lady. I had him recommended on another forum (poultry bit) and emailed - had some very helpful replies to my questions. He's happy to book you in for a one-to-one discussion about chicken keeping - even if you aren't going to buy from him. That speaks for itself - he is interested in their welfare.
Thanks for that one, Outgate looks best of the local ones, nice webpage too!
I've ordered a hen house! :0)

I have heard Rand Farm do point of lay pullets but I don't know what breeds.
Glentham hens will supply ex Bats if you can give any of them a home.
My current 3 came from there at £4 each early last year.
Rand farm- I bought four from there five years ago! Two are still going strong and have outlived their counterparts from a local chicken shop (that is closed now) near me in Grantham. Also when you go to the reception tell them you want to buy chickens and they send you through and you can look at all of their breeds and hatching chicks!
Regards
Pat
