I think most people advise that you look in the classified ads at the back of Practical Poultry magazine. I recently found this site that looks as if it might be useful Poultry / Accessories For Sale and Wanted in Lincolnshire on Poultry Ads UK

Google Outgate Poultry and see if that's near enough. He mainly deals in hybrids but has Light Sussex available this spring. He's near Crowle.

Hi, thanks for that, Outgate looks really useful and not too far!
        Most grateful!

I have heard Rand Farm do point of lay pullets but I don't know what breeds.

Glentham hens will supply ex Bats if you can give any of them a home.

My current 3 came from there at £4 each early last year.

There's Poultry Mad. (they have a web site) and I think they're in the general area of Louth. They stock plenty of pure breeds, plus hybrids.
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

Can I just add to Flummery's suggestion ... I got my ladies from Outgate Poultry and they're fabulously healthy lovely birds. They are hybrids but I'm sure his pure breeds will be equally good
                  Cheers

Glad to hear that T-Lady. I had him recommended on another forum (poultry bit) and emailed - had some very helpful replies to my questions. He's happy to book you in for a one-to-one discussion about chicken keeping - even if you aren't going to buy from him. That speaks for itself - he is interested in their welfare.

Thanks for that one, Outgate looks best of the local ones, nice webpage too!
                      I've ordered a hen house! :0)

That's the slippery slope Emmylou! Once you've got a henhouse you HAVE to get hens (unless you have fairies at the bottom of your garden of course!)

I'm hoping to visit him first weekend in April - assuming the run build continues to go to plan.

Don't forget to let them free range some of the time!

Enjoy it (Grimsby is becoming a bit of a "centre" for back yard chickens!)

Rand farm- I bought four from there five years ago! Two are still going strong and have outlived their counterparts from a local chicken shop (that is closed now) near me in Grantham. Also when you go to the reception tell them you want to buy chickens and they send you through and you can look at all of their breeds and hatching chicks!

                            Regards
