..so I have - and I'm still a bit confused!!!

OK- so it can be fed to 3wk old pheasants- so I imaging my chicks will be fine...and if I had 1,000 of them- I'd need 16 tubs of 240g( or is that 1.6 cos I've not got my reading glasses to hand!!!!)

flipping heck...my maths isn't up to all this!

So 3 chicks and 6 adult birds.
They love raisins- so I'll use those..just a matter of how much each for 7 days to work out now
The amount for 1 hen is the amount which goes on the end of a sharp knife! Frias gave me a link to Omlet - just to check - you go into "club" then forum then there's a bit about worms and worming. I did my girls individually using soggy bread as I found the powder stuck to it better - fell off grapes, sultanas etc. It's definitely recommended to be given with food. Its only a small amount so would probably get lost in the water!

      OK - thanks for that!
I'll cut open the raisins and wipe the knife tip inside.
Chicks????just the slightest touch???- or leave hem??? ( remember they DO free-range and I understand are more likely to pick up worms)

Is the best time at dusk when they start to perch for the night???

I did mine at treats time so they were all clamouring to get back in the run! They were queueing up at the gate for their share!

Well- I thought I'd try and see how it goes -so I called them in ...'chook chook bock...come and conga on the roof boys and gals'

They were at the far end of the field- few hundred yards and when I rattled the raisin packet they flew over- (even the babbies!)
Managed to dose all the gals - then no 2 cockerel - then no 1 cockerel dropped his for one of the moms- so she had 2
Finally got him on his own and he wolfed down his.
Not been able to feed the babies yet as the moms want them instead!!!!.( one raisin cut into 3...might cut it into 6 maybe??)
          Will try them later.

Quite easy really- just need to seperate the boys from the moms I think tomorrow. Lets see what I can do with the babies later.

Ooops, forgot to say you need to seperate them so as not to dose twice. Doesn't do them any harm though as mine have stolen extra before. Never had chicks so no experience with dosing them.

I've just finished doing mine....and although I didn't see any worms I feel happy that I may have nipped something in the bud.
Apparently you can give them a second course and a third one every 3 weeks if you think there may still be quite a few worms on the land.

Where exactly do they get the worms from...are slugs etc hosts??????

i haven't actually wormed mine yet, no sign of worms in poo, but i put powdered garlic in their food every couple of days, they think it's yum, i guess i should get some wormer though .... they haven't been outside for long.

When I said I'd wormed them... haven't actually wormed my babies
I thought I'd wait a while cos they were anxious if away from their moms - and with them the mum kept nicking the tiny bits of raisins as the chicks won't feed from my hands yet....(which is a bit sad!)

Guys - Flubenvet is designed to be added to feed and fed to chickens for 7 consecutive days. One single dose on one day will not cover them. Read the tub instructions! And you can now buy small amounts of it in sachet form for just dosing a few chickens. Most feed merchants now stock it like that. Just to let you know. I would advise doing it every 3 months too, if the chickens are ranging over the same land day after day.
