I'd like some Quails as well. I was put off as somone told me they die if it gets damp, they murder each other and if there is any left they commit suicide. I'l just have to keep watching the wild ones we have in the fields and dream on.

They are easy to keep I got the kids 5 hens and a rabbit pen 1 of them got eatten by the chickens (as we put them all in the big run together) and 2 others went from old age about a year after we got them....we now have 4 hens (2 of them are the old girls we started with)and 2 cocks with 10 little babys that are about 5 days old...the eggs are so nice to eat but there poo does smell a little bit, but if you clean them out well and often its ok and its fine on the compost.

I have just made a big pen...well its 4 pens on top of each other and I'm going to home 10 cocks in one and about 45 hens in the other three thats 15 in each......each pen is 4ft by 2ft by 1-half ft and yes there will be more babys as the meat is nice to.....yum yum.

If you want to know anymore about them just send me a pm message and we can have a chat....thats if I know the answer lol...

      hope this helps...

I love quail and have 2 dozen eggs in the incubator so will hopefully have a new flock soon.

        I do think 15 in 4ft x 2ft while do-able is a bit intensive for my taste..

I kept mine in an enclosed run with the chickens, he sadly passed away last week.

But we are thinking of more as they are very funny.
