For the last 3 days we've been laying flagstones and gravel, adding gravelboards to the framework and then 'sewing' the weldmesh onto the frame. Himself made a support for the henhouse to raise it up and give a sheltered feeding area underneath. We have still to complete the job of attaching the weldmesh and stapling it at the bottom. I added a couple of stone chickens for effect - this is the story so far!
We will put a good layer of scratching material on the top of course, and the blue fish box (not sure if you can see it in the picture) will become a dust bath, although I'm sure they'll still make their own in my borders when out feee ranging! After a whole winter of planning it's starting to feel like we WILL have chickens!
