    So yes, back on January 31st (can't believe it's that long) we picked up six ex-batts.

    And well yes, they're coming along great. Most are getting feathers and look ,well, like chickens. They're now "proper" chickens too, enjoying a free range most days (well everyday there's no rain.)







    And well, I think that's enough for now, as you don't need too many.

      Oh they're lovely. I think its a wonderfull thing you're doing, giving those poor birds the chance of a life - you have literally given them a reason to live. And I know they repay you tenfold because you love them - not just because you get eggs.

        You wouldnt guess the bottom and middle ones where ex batts you must be doing a grand job well done .The top one looks like one of mine I call her the witch .

          They are feathering up beautifully!! Its so rewarding watching them becoming 'real' chickens like they should be.

              what you mean "we don't need to many"??? is there such a thing? bring them on love looking at the pics, they're feathering up nicely!

                      Lovely pics-can't wait to see if mine end up looking that good-they still look a bit raggedy but it's early days. Nice work!
