  • chicks this week

Well all my eggs are due to hatch this week, as I type this the goslings are hatching.

I have 50 chicks arriving from a friend, most of which are spoken for but a few left if anyone is interested.

Seems to be nice timing as I will have chicks running around for easter and my grandaughter and daughter coming to stay for the week.

And this morning we have 2 new chicks 1 x Light Sussex and a Light Sussex x Black Rock.
My Grandaughter is going to flip when she gets up and see them. So I need to go and get the electic hen switched on as we are expecting over 50 this week, that added to the 2 goslings easter is so much fun this year.

Still have a few chicks available if anyone is interested.

One advantage of goslings is they grow out of needing heat MUCH more quickly than chicks. If they are living in 'human temperature' (ie a comfortable temperature to sit at the computer without a jumper) you can turn the heat lamp off by day within a few days, and at night by about 8/9 days. By 2 weeks (less with warm weather) they can be living the outdoor life.
Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.
