Sorry for the lateness, OH has had me building a shed for the last 2 days.
Well....
I got a call yesterday morning from the lady in question.
She asked if I had got rid of my chicken yet... I answered "No".
She then goes on to say how don't worry about it, she's leaving blah blah blah, and they won't be coming out to visit me, then commented how lovely the run looked.
Whilst I wanted to throttle her, I was also overjoyed at the news, but the fight isn't quite over yet.
Who can say that I won't get a visit from one of her colleagues in the near future.
Anyhow, told her of my friend who got permission, and that he's waiting for it in writing. She said that if I can get the name of the person who gave permission, she too would arrange for me to have a letter of permission.
Sooooo, good news, but not perfect yet.

I totally agree Bephlam...
My friend recieved he's letter today, and guess who signed the permission...
Oh go on, you'll never guess in a million years...
Oh ok, well it wasn't the lady I was dealing with to begin with if that was what you were thinking, but it was her manager!!! The same person I spoke to who knew nothing about anybody apparently wanting to keep chicken in their back garden!!!
So on Monday I will straight on the phone, and requesting my own written permission now that I know who it was.

Well this all looks very promising. Having worked for several companies where the left hand didn't know what the right was doing though I can well believe that her manager signed your friend's letter. Hope you get a similar letter soon and well done for standing up to them.Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

I don't know what to do... should I...
1) set the chooks on her
2) set my dog's on her
3) just do the job meself, and wait for the round of applause?
Had a call from my housing officer this afternoon, after having confirmed everything with her this morning and for my letter to sent regarding my chooks.
She informed me, that she had an attempted anon phone call, a complaint about my chooks waking the said (or sad) person up in the morning. HO told anon person to put it in writing to delay the process etc etc, she can't be bothered with it anymore and has had enough as we all have.
So... having got on the housing officers friendly side during my ordeal, I asked her whether the complaint was from a politely spoken, posh spoken, or down to earth (common type, like me) person.
The reply I had was the one I was expecting and now know who the culprit is!!!
Turns out it was her that also complained about my nextdoor neighbour, which as you know was the start of the aggro I have had!
I'd love to do the same to her about her dog's barking, sorry yapping all the time... but that is just tit for tat and I like to think I am a little more grown up than that.
Suggestions on a postcard to....

Just caught up with this thread...
Congratulations Sheena, on standing up for yourself and your chooks, and getting the result!
Glad you're not going to stoop to the level of the complainer, I'm sure you must have to be a very sorry sort of human to do that
Enjoy your girls
