My typical teens pullets have not wanted to go to bed since they were let out on Wednesday. They have gone in and out of the house when it starts to get dusk, but by the time my automatic pop-hole opener closes up, there are usually 2 or even 3 outside. This has meant that we've had to open it again and put them in. They settle very happily and come out again when it opens in the morning. Last night though, they all went in at bedtime. Pop-hole closed - Bob's your Uncle!
Mr Flum was quite overcome with their cleverness. "I feel quite proud of them!" he said, a mite dewy-eyed!
Isn't chicken keeping lovely?
PS Amber flew up onto my knee twice this afternoon while I was feeding them chick-weed. (D'Oh! Now you know I have chick-weed in the garden!)
