Slightly similar problem, but I have to ask myself; 'Is it fair that Coco has four girlfriends and Elvis only has two?' Now, I know it would be quite difficult to mix older hens with younger ones and my growers are only 8 weeks old so it's not as if I could nip out and buy a couple of hybrids or something. And I really don't want to wait until the babies are fully grown, because then they'd be all territorial and stuff. Also, my babies are Silkie X Sussex, who are notorious for going broody and I really don't want four of those. BUT I do know where I can get a couple of 9 week old Rhode Island Reds.
So, what do you think...... are Rose and Ruby good names for Rhodies?
PS, Don't tell OH, he thinks we're just going to pick up a new drinker.

Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.

I'd love Welsummers...erm.... it's a bit late though coz I've already got the Rhodies. We've decided to call them Dorothy and Daphne though......oh and Daisy . Well he only had the three left and I couldn't leave it on its own, could I? Though once I got them home and had a good look Daisy is a bit broad in the chest and has definite wattle development. Oh, deary, deary me.
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.
