Have got quite a few kiwi fruit left from my daughter's last trip home--I'm not that keen on them--are they ok to give to the girls? There was a list somewhere about things poisonous to hens, but can't find where I stored it!

After I posted my reply, I thought the Tilly could actually be your dog, or cat (or chicken!), and not a 'real' daughter at all It hadn't occurred to me that she might not actually be called Tilly
Sorry your girls didn't like the kiwi. I have found that mine are less picky than my mums 2 hens, but maybe with my rabble (13) they know they have to get in quick or the food will have gone! Perhaps afterwards they're actually thinking "Blearghh! I really wish I hadn't eaten that...!"

I think a lot of it is what your birds were used to as they were growing. Coco and Elvis will eat anything (thank you, Lynda), our growers will eat anything, but the POL hens we bought a couple of weeks ago are very fussy.Last edited by bluemoon; 10-05-2009, 07:36 AM.Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.
