  • Mesh Floor

Having made a simple run I had a sudden thought, what if we need to clear off a for a a night or two?

Anyway, I've got some tougher mesh from a neighbour so I can make a safer and tougher run.

Now, this run is going to be moveable and attached to the front of the henhouse, just like the old one so the question is, if I put a mesh floor in, so it's sat directly on the ground, will the chooks be comfortable walking on it?

If not I might just make the floor seperate and only put it under when it's really needed, otherwise I'll leave it permanantly attached so they can stay up late if they want

It is comfortable for chooks to walk on and it can help stop the damage to the grass but still allow them to nibble and eat the vegetation. I was considering this for my breeding pens first for safety and secondly to save the grass.
