    Hi

I grow spinach, mine love it, it goes within minutes but spinach is very quick growing (perpetual (i think that is how you spell it) ) and it will keep growing through the winter if covered. You just pick a few leaves at a time off the plant and they will just keep going.

Well pigeons normally nick my Brussels sprout tops and once the sprouts themselves have gone I normally let them. This year I'm going to keep them netted for the chooks though. I've also sown kale and extra sweetcorn and I've a packet of corn salad which would normally last a couple of years, but I'm going to sow the lot so we can have some and so can they.
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

My Laydees were hysterical with marrows last year. They had no idea what to do until I cut them in half then that was it - at one point they were wearing marrow skins as hats/halloween costumes

i get greens from the market for mine once a week, far too many for them to eat, so the excess goes in my compost

but i am growing kale again and cabbages and something else for them, so they can have fresh leaves daily as well as the market leaves .... their favourite thing in the world is plums,(the mankier the better, they like em mushy ) so i'm also thinking of getting a plum tree.

Oh good. Next door's over-ripe plums fall into my veg bed. I can collect them for the laydees!
