Hi and thank for the welcome.....

I (hopefully soon) will know what you mean, waiting on BHWT for some of my own girls

but i suppose the waiting will give me time now to read as much as i can for when they arrive!!

you could try urine, i was told by a smallholder that human urine (has to be morning urine as its stronger) deters foxes....

But then I was once told that the same would grow large cabbages as well...seems to be more versatile than swiss army knife does our urine!

Having smelt the staircase of the local car park on far too many occasions, I think you might be onto a winner with the urine

(......I've used it kick start warm compost heaps too.......)

      Halllllooooo also.

It tends to kill everything as it think it can go back time and time again once there all dead !

Hating a fox would be a kin to hating a Lion because they take down a springbok !

SO my view is if they got in, its your fault for not making it secure enough, not theres...

i'm not a particular fox lover, infact i've take my share when I used to go hunting and that was for taking sheep and chickens, but my view point has always remained the same.
I don't think anyone said anything about hating foxes (apart from temporarily on discovering the results of a visit), but as you point out yourself, you don't need to hate a predator in order to want rid of it!

as irony would have it, who did i see in my garden yesterday at about 7pm, but Charlie Brown himself!!!

i am pretty rural in an old farmhouse, with only houses nearby being an oast and a barn, and 3 cottages 50m away, and i'm half a mile from nearest main road. i had seen foxes in my field over winter, but they must have been close on a mile from the house.

            what changed?

i got my 4 girls on saturday afternoon is what!

Daisy, Poppy, Primrose and Bluebell seemed unconcerned when i went to check on them - their run is pretty secure - but my 2 cats were very interested in the strange scents on the lawn he obviously left.

have to say it was pretty cool seeing it that close - he saw me in the house and just sat there licking his chops, and then hid in a flower bed when i came out. i got within 6ft of him before he bolted across the field...

I didnt say anyone did mention hating Foxes, that was a undirected statement about foxes, which are commonly hated for there feeding habits, sorry you misunderstood that
