            A final update, thanks for all your kind messages and thoughts, Penny has made a complete recovery and has been out in the garden with me today.

            She is not laying yet but, after being dragged up a fence in a foxes mouth, I am not expecting her to lay for a while.

            The fox was in the garden last night, we saw it quite well, it is a yearling and probably that was its first attempt at chook catching ... if it wants to live, I hope it is its last.
