  • Strange bedtime habits

All 4 of my new Bluebelle girls are settling in well but they're still quite timid and stick together - except at bedtime! Every night for the last 4 nights Marjorie has hopped on to the roof of the coop (not very high) then she must have got onto the shed roof to get down onto the poly-greenhouse roof where she's quite happy to settle down for the night She doesn't object when I lift her off for our night-time chat and cuddle and goes to bed quite happily after that (I do have to physically put her in the coop though!!)

Have we any other quirky bedtime routines in our lot?

Lighting our light sussex ranger decided to roost on the apex of my glass greenhouse the first night! it's over 8ft off the ground! how she made it up there is anyones guess!

EDIT : You shoulda seen me trying to get her down! my neighbours must of had a chuckle!

Never test the depth of the water with both feet

The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory....

Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.

the first time it happened I didn't notice her up there and I was frantically searching all over the garden for her, even looked on the garage roof because that would be easy to get to from the shed! It was only when she quietly "bokked" as I went by that I found her

Coco still refuses to go to bed until it is truly dark - and if the moon is bright that can be quite late - He seems to go in to bed quite early, shuffle and bang about for a bit, then come back out and stay out, long after everyone else is asleep. He is the only one I've seen actively hunting flies and bugs though, so I think it's something to do with the fact that this is the best time to catch a few. The police helicopter is 'parked' near our allotments too and he's obsessed with it, he obviously thinks it's some sort of threat. If that's out (I think they practice by circling round over the lotties, park and golf course at least twice a week) then there's no doing anything with him until it's gone. Some nights I find myself wishing that something bad would happen somewhere so the police would have to fly off and sort it out and then I can go home to bed.

Really wish I hadn't said this, because it did.
