Hi all.
While clearing out my allotment, my OH and myself have found a couple of sheds that look as though they have been used for chooks in the past. My OH is now quite keen on the idea of having chooks for eggs/meat.
We have never kept chooks before and it is not something I plan on rushing into.
The shed needs repairing and a decent sized secure run needs to be built first, so we are looking at it being well into the the new year before we are even ready for birds.
If anybody knows of good books to read, where to find the best dual purpose breeds and maybe a chook keeping course, I would be very grateful.
