No doubt everyone's chook vocabulary has increased enormously since that was first posted

        Cockerel speak -
cockadoodledoooooooooooooooooooooooo (we all know this one) = "Oy you lot, I'm awake so you lot should be too"
cockadoodlecoughcoughcough = "ok, so I got it a bit wrong!!! I'm still learning!"
high pitched cukcukcuk while stamping feet and pecking at the ground = "look girls, there's something really nice to eat here"
low pitched cukcukcuk = "come on girls, have a look at this, I'll stand behind you and we can pretend to be playing piggyback"

Ha ha - I can really identify with the cock noises. Don't forget the "I'm going to stick one wing down and do a funny dance which is really attractive. If I get over enthusiastic I sometimes trip over my own wing!"

            Hee hee that's brilliant Maureen!

Mavis has stopped squawking so loudly, maybe she is settling down.

Now I'm worried about what they think I'm saying to them when I say 'bok bok' to them!

I haven't come across that one yet, but Basil's only 24 weeks old, and Rowan's only 15 weeks (I think!!)
