That's it, I've reached my limit....house will take 6 chooks comfortably, so I bought two more today!
We went to the Devonshire Traditional Breeds place. Lovely place to visit, and free to get in. Didn't buy chooks, but got a gorgeous Hidcote lavender. I'd recommend the place to anyone, the chooks were lovely but not what I really wanted.
Next stop was Chilsworthy. OH couldn't figure out why we were there as it wasn't a visitor attraction. Oh, just to see the endangered breeds that they have. He was quietly confident that I wasn't going to be tempted to buy any because I had nothing to take them home in. He hadn't looked in the boot where #2 son & I had hidden two cat carriers whilst OH was in the shower!!
So, we came home with a black Scots Dumpy and a Marsh Daisy!! They are called Morag and Daisy (very original) and are now in the hen house whilst the older four girls are free ranging. We'll let them out into the coop whilst the older girls go to bed, and reintroduce them after dark. The newbies are 17weeks, whilst my girls are 19 weeks.
DD & I are going to try the vinegar trick too. I must admit to being quite nervous about the introductions.
