A couple more.
one is the mini run Steve made for them. This is where they will live until they are big enough to leave mam and go into another little place with a chunk of the main run fenced off for them and a couple of pics of the doodling around eating and drinking and stuff

Escapees!!

Went to feed them this morning, and found two babies running round the run with the big chickens!! Nearly had kittens, the little buggers had scratched a hole then squeezed through and couldn't find their way back in!!
HAve now blocked hole with a brick. A couple more pics.

If I remember my reading, and it is quite a while ago.....

The black with yellow will be one sex and the all yellow the opposite.

I'll go and get my books and look again - sex linked colour in chicks......

You might only have one hen.... are you going to raise them for the table?

I really don't know about sexing chicks. Was hoping for about 50/50, but will have to wait and see. One has a small tail sprouting already. Their feathers look Maran-ish, but fella at farm said they are all crosses and he has game hens, light sussex, marans, legbars/aracaunas.
The eggs I put under the girls ranged from dark to light brown, white and blue.

Cockerels will end up on table eventually

Ahh well the only real way to find out is wait and see!
