Wanted to wait & make sure Marigold was all better...will maybe start another thread on that...she is totally well now,so we're sure no risk/danger of nasty diseases doing the rounds.Dandelion was given her little gift of 8 eggs last night & so far she seems absolutely thrilled with them...and yep, she's been dusted down, coop was sprayed a week or so ago & mite powder dusted under her nest box!!!!the fates lead him who will;him who won't they drag.

We were really lucky as the chap we got them from had been mixing his fertile with nonfertile eggs as he had just put his last lot of the year in the incubators,so it depended on what fertile ones were laid that day...was hoping for some Jubilee Orpingtons & they dutifully laid four eggs!So four Jubilee Orpingtons, one Buff, two Maran cross & one Dark Brahma. As she seemed to struggle with Marigolds twelve last time we decided to stick to eight.
I'm desparately trying to be blase about it,but in honesty I've been googling & ogling the Jubilees for a good part of the day!!!
Sorry Frias...didn't mean to hijack your thread!.xxthe fates lead him who will;him who won't they drag.

Jubilee Orps...
....Nice! I didn't know what they looked like, so googled too. Seems my favourite chook farm sells them, but they called them Speckledy, which doesn't sound half as good! It'll be lovely to see what the chicks look like!
