  • Ooops I've done it again ...

After losing a hen to the fox last week, I decided to replace her today. So of I went to Honeybourne to view the hens ... just one mind ... what? ... I know they are all cute ... Speckys were nice ... my favorite really, then the Magpie ... I know ... just the one ... What are you looking at? ... well ok, settled for three, two Speckys and the Magpie, all safely home and asleep now.

    Pics tomorrow.

    Good on you!!!
I'm sure they'll be very happy in their new home...and to justify the three...could you really have put one lonely hen amongst your others without a friend,or two,for that little bit of moral support???
    Enjoy your new girls!

Great, I agree you couldn't get just one. Hope they all settle in well.

I went for a new drinker and came home with five growers the other week... just 'happened' to have the cat-box in the boot. I agree, you can't just have the one.
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

                And is that a problem?

Last year I had 3 extra ex-batts lodging with my 6 for some of my granddaughters. They only stayed 3 weeks before my daughter decided they'd like to have them at their house and to get another 3 to keep them company. Their flock has now grown to 14 (2 of which are "lodgers" ) There always seems to be room for "just 1 more" but as you've found out, you can't just get 1 can you!!
My girls found their way into my heart and now they nest there

Much better to introduce 3 than one. Less chance of cat-fights! We're egging (groan!) you on aren't we?
