  • Unwelcom Broodyness

Hi all, I have been away for a while from the forum but it's nice to read all of your entries. Hope everyone is in fine fettle. My best layer, Betty, is broody! Thats not good for me because I need her eggs for my cake business and can anyone tell me how to coax her out of it.
My 3 new ones are young, about 20 weeks and still not laying yet, I'm pulling my hair out as I had to buy eggs from the farm yesterday. Tres embarrassement nes't pas. HELP

lol...you'll need to Sin Bin her!!

(or...let her hatch some....then you'll have lots more for your cake business next year!)

I love to talk about nothing. It's the only thing I know anything about!!

I sin binned my broody 5 times over the last year. In the end I broke before she did and she's now sat on some fertile eggs. I am hoping that if she's allowed to do it once she won't want to again. Some hope! lol

Thanks Bephlam, I would love to hatch some little darlings but we don't have the room or the time. I'm becoming a fusspot so 'Much Beloved' tells me. The Good's never had this problem. Thanks for the tip, take care
