Well here's some pics of the first one, and of Janet. Just for those who don't know the whole story, Janet's an ex-batt, rescued just over a year ago who decided she'd like to be a mummy . They think this one might be a Cochin, but as the name had rubbed off the shell, they're not sure. Sure is cute though

Black pekin Maureen - I think.

I'm trying to remember what she had but i'm sure that she had silkies, black pekins and 1 cochin for luck - but this is not a cochin as the ones we had as a breeding trio were partridge cochin at that time - the black cochins were picked up the same day we gave her the eggs!

But whatever it is - its CUUUUUUUUUUUUTTTTTTTTTTTEEE!! and i'm really happy that Janet got babies.

Latest news, don't think any more have hatched (well she didn't text me to tell me anyway!) but today Janet took the babies outside for lunch Becci watched her calling them and they all followed her back inside, then she was showing them where the food was Aren't chookies clever? Even the ones who've never known a mummy, had been caged up in a battery farm for 18 months (or however long it is) and then pass on all these instinctive things to their chicks I can go and see them tomorrow (after Pigletwillies visit that is)

Hi, I am so sorry for your loss. We really enjoyed reading about Janet and Jellybean. We have 7 exbatts and they are lovely little girls who follow u around all over the farm, they are so comical. Once again, so sorry.
