  • Didn't Get an Egg.....

I was hoping for an egg today as it's my 40+++ birthday, but the nest box was empty.

This morning I was making my cup of coffee and when I turned around the girls had wandered into the kitchen which was really nice I'm glad they feel so at home!

I sat in the garden with my coffee and watched them chase moths & flies....hilarious! Daisy is very fleet of foot and catches the most. Unlike the other girls, she's learnt to keep quiet about her victories so that she can munch them up herself!

Well, Happy Birthday Jules! Sorry you didn't get an egg but I'm sure it won't be too long. Enjoy the rest of your birthday watching the chickens. A good way to spend it - I spend far too much time watching mine (so my husband tells me)!!

                  Thanks everyone!

I've had a lovely day, spent a great deal of it in the garden chook-watching. Who would have thought chooks were so fascinating?!

They may not be producing eggs, but they are the best present I've ever had! Another one was a book with 45 designs/plans for building your own chicken coops. I feel very inspired now thanks to DD.

I also got a garden clock, a garden barometer and thermometer too, all galvanised steel and water/weatherproof. Lovely pressie from my boys!

I used to think being over 40 would be awful, but I'm really loving it! Life has indeed begun at 40!

The BIG Four-0 was a few years ago now . A roasting hot summer's day as I remember, and the year I set up my own business (from scratch) which is how life began at 40 for me.

Just off for some supper, and then I'm giving the girls spaghetti as a birthday treat (and also because it's hysterically funny)

Happy Birthday Jules. Did your girls leave any other 'little presents' indoors?

Many happy returns Jules. Shame about the egg, but never mind, chook watching makes up for lack of eggs for me!
