  • OOooooooooooops!

We have just been to the Heckington Agricultural Show, had a wonder round for a couple of hours, stuffed our faces with local food.

When we got home imagine my shock when I found a Speckled Sussex & Skyline Pullett in the back of my Freelander I've no recollection of even going into the poultry tent, anyway if I did it was only to have a look

They will be lonely, they are flock creatures - you need a few more!

How on earth could that have happened - oh well like all these little hiccups suppose you will have to love and care for them - such a hardship!!

Bet they are great - mildly "green eyed" as specked sussex is on my "want" list!

They spotted you and said to each other "We could have a nice home with her!" (hope you are a her) and just followed you back to your Freelander, stowed away in the back, and hey presto!

            I am a 'her' & I know they won't be the last.

Don't tell my partner, although it's all his fault we went inside to have a look. Although he did tell me he later that he wanted them all , I said I wish he'd said as there was only one skyline left & I was so sorry to leave her.................

No, stop it! I have 18 now

You are so lucky to have chucks, I really want to have some but I cant. I live in an area where the youngsters like to vandalise things so I cant put them on my allotment. I am not so worried if some of my crops get trashed, I would be annoyed but could live with it but I would be gutted if the chucks got hurt or worse.
My dog and cat are getting on a bit now so when they are gone I would like to have just a few (2 or 3) chucks in my back garden where they will be safer. I couldn't have too many though as it is a fairly small garden and I want to finally have it as a proper garden too, not just a space for the animals.
