Poached on hot buttered toast. Complete with zig zagging pattern of ketchup across the plate.

A boiled 'dippy' egg - or if I've got my timings wrong and its set but creamy, then spread on toast........scrummy!

(Oh, and it has to be your own girlees eggs as they are the best ever!!!!)

btw, are your new girlees laying yet....? the cream legbars and wheaten marans?

Don't care how it is cooked - as long as it is fresh!

Lor the difference in the taste!

The cakes are better, the custards look more yellow - my food phobic child will eat them (well - the blue ones that Kiev lays at least) ...... how can you improve on perfection!

Collect a warm, fresh egg and have it for lunch. Heaven!

This weekend for brunch both days (too lazy to get up early), we had seriously fresh egg and bacon in warm Onion Baguettes - so delicious I'm drooling just thinking about it!

slowly fried so its remains pure white rather than with crispy bits around the edge, deep orange yolk (only had from your own hens), with a slice of home made spelt bread and some home made sweet cure bacon, served with a sliced grilled tomatoe from the garden.

I can't bear runny egg (yolk or white) it makes me gag.

I can just about bear a scrambled egg or an omelette.

I love them as Scotch eggs in the summer and another summer favourite, homemade icecream. They also make wonderful sandwiches, hard-boiled, mashed with black pepper and eaten with cress.

In the winter it's another story and poached eggs come out tops!

                              best wishes
