    In fact, quick question....

In the winter, I was worried about the length of time they will not have water, eg when I shut them u at 5pm (dark nights) and when I open them at 7/8am
being an allotment, I dont want to be opening them while its dark as foxes etc will still be around

the ark really isnt big enough for provision, so how do people work with this?
Mine are on an allotment and I do exactly the same as Maureen has described. I was really worried about the ex-batts as they came out of their hell-hole at the end of January (2008) and straight into winter and short days but they managed fine.

      Hi
After I mentioned that his last lot of chickens kept running out of water we don't have a very good relationship...

I didn't really mind filling up their water but it meant having to lay full length on the ground manhandling a watering can through the wire...

I can't get up everyday but then I did lash out on biggest drinker and feed containers and the rain hats are a godsend, no more soggy pellets.

Could you mention it to the Allotment Secretary or someone that you're a bit concerned? Ask whoever if they wouldn't mind not saying who had passed comment but if the chooks need a new owner/home then ...........................?
My girls found their way into my heart and now they nest there
