Hi all, I have just confirmed 2 more ex-batts to replace the two I lost earlier. My question is: Bertha (the one left )is well feathered and bulky and I'm worried that she will pick on them, or, seeing as there is 2 of them, will they pick on her? any advice?

It's only a 'logical guess' but I reckon her extra size, and being 'at home' will balance the fact that there are 2 of them. A few tiffs maybe, but should be manageable, I would say.
Introduce them at night of course....Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.

who knows - its an answerless question because every bird is an individual and react very differently even when placed in a similar situation to previously- BUT you are intorducing into her territory so she will try to assume the top in the pecking order - there are two of them sothey will probably buddy up - I think you should be fine

good luck with the placement, but I think even though Bertha will try to (and probably will) take her place at the top of the pecking order, she'll enjoy the company. Out of my original batch of exbat's I also only have 1 remaining and you's swear that her and the second batch were all from the same batch!Never test the depth of the water with both feet

When I introduced 3 new ex-batts to 3 older ones I thought they would never get along. It didn't help that one of the older girls went broody at the same time and was the ring leader of the bullying. She went into a broody coop on her own and the 5 others now all get on well. I'm hopeful that the broody (now mum to 4 chicks) will integrate back with the others soon.
Bertha might object to the newbies at first but I'm sure she will soon accept them and love having some new friends.
Let us know how it goes.

Ooooh, good luck, hope it all goes well. I'm sure you'll be fine if there's one top chick and two newbies
When are you getting yours from and when? I'm doing likewise next week, just wondered if it's the same rescue
