We skipped the geese and duck and went for Turkeys Hayley

Hillary - Splash cochins - thats the colour I'm planning on next - it usually comes from a black cock to blue hen or from two blues if they are carrying the splash gene. It was either get a pair/trio of splash of get a blue hen to go in with the blacks.

When I got Cuddles he was described as a 'mismarked blue'. It was at least 25 years ago (I think significantly more), and maybe the 'splash' colour wasn't recognised then. Crossed with black, it produced blue, but some lighter than others (Sooty was charcoal, Smokey was classic 'blue'). The lady who gave me Cuddles was trying to breed blues, but both her trios produced a lot of 'splash' colouring. Cuddles came from one, the 2 hens from the other. Cuddles was a gift, the 'matching' hens I bought, but much cheaper than if they had been 'proper' blues.
I got my first trio of turkeys (white ones) and the 100 egg auto-turn incubator from the same person.
Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.
