  • Rhodie/Ostrich Cross?

One of our Rhodies laid her first egg today and it weighs 93 grams!!!!!!!!!!!
I assume her cycle is out of sync and it will turn out to be a double yolker? I've obviously got to show it to absolutely everybody before I break it to find out.
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

I don't do digital, Glutton, I'm a bit of a luddite. . Even if I did I'm too much of a techno-idiot to know how to get it on here. My friend took photos of Coco and Elvis weeks ago and I'm still waiting for her to help me post them. I'll see if she can take one of the huge egg next to the first Gold-Top egg (22 grams) they're like David and Goliath.

You're not alone bluemoon. I can't post piccies either. With help of DS I have now got them stored on computer but the next step defeats me.
My older ex-batts layed woppers last year but have now retired themselves. Never had a double yolker though and the new girls lay 60/70 grammes so uinlikely to get one from them. Might get one from Rose, the Welsummer but as she's only 3 weeks old I've a long wait!

Do have a go at loading piccies.............once you've done it it's like riding a bike, you'll never forget how to do it again.
The main thing to remember is you need a programme that diminishes the size of your piccies down to a few kilobytes, but there's plenty of free ones kicking about. Then you just load them as an attachment!

...and if you won't take a man's word for it...ditto what Snadge says!
Get someone to work you through it & it's actually quite easy...I really am a total computer nitwit & I can do it!...and we really need to see that egg!

Ignore that bit (for now!) because if the picture is too big the program will tell you.

                    To post pictures :-
                    Step 1
click on either "Post Reply" or "Quote" or if you're posting a "Quick Reply" then click on "Advanced"

                    Step 2
at the top there is a heading that says "Reply to Thread" (in a border). Below that is a title box. Use it if you want to, but it's not necessary. Below that is the Message section. There are drop-down boxes if you want to change the Font or Size. Next to that is a Capital A underlined thickly in black. Use this if you want to change the colour of the text. Next to that is a smiley face. Next is a paperclip THIS IS THE ATTACHMENT BIT.

When you've typed what you want to say in the message section, click on the paperclip at the top. Another box (or small window) will open. The top part is labelled "Upload File from your Computer". Underneath that is a button labelled "Choose File". Click that button so that you can browse through your folders to find the photo you want to post. Highlight the file (photo) then click "Open". The name of your photo is then displayed in this second small window. Click the button marked "Upload". Wait a few minutes for the file to upload, then, if you want to add more pictures, repeat the process up to 5 times.

                    Step 3
When you've uploaded all you want, click the button at the bottom of the "Reply to Thread" box marked "Preview Post". This shows you what your post will look like to all us lot If you're happy with it, click "Submit Reply". Bob's your Uncle (Hopefully!!). If you want to make any changes to your post, do them before clicking "Submit Reply"

                    Hope this helps
