I posted a couple of weeks agothat Bluebell, my Bluebell had started laying, with teeny weeny eggs. Turned out not to be her but one of my ex batts going through a funny phase (now back to normal). Anyway, Bluebell did manage to produce her very first egg this week, a little but perfectly formed egg, but in the run, not the nesting box. She's done very well since, we've had 4 more from her, but all in either the main run or the run of the coop.
All the other girls lay happily in the nesting box, is there anything I can do that would encourage Bluebell to do the same? Twice Ive had to dig up her egg from the run where its been covered from a dust bath, its like she just does them where ever she's standing at the time. Could it be that there's someone in the box when she needs to go, would that put her off do you think? The nesting box fits two very easily, Anyone with any ideas?
