Chicken breeds?

Yes, I know it has been asked before but...

There are some laying hens (about 20 months) on our local freecycle. Lady says she has 3 marans and four white hens - two are white star and the other two she doesn't remember the type. She says two hens lay white eggs the rest lay brown. am I right thinking that the white star lay white eggs? If so, what types might the other white ones be?

White stars definitely lay white eggs. Are the other two completely white or do they have other markings do you know?

She just says white hens. I might know more on 8th September. She has a home for either 3 or 4 so I will be taking the remainder - not sure at the moment which ones.

LOL, might still try to get some of the ex-free range ones if they come available in September too do you fancy a few of those? I can maybe even offer you a chook house (if I manage to get my new shed)

The other 'white' hens could be Light Sussex - they would lay a tinted egg.
