Well ............................. my friends who've got some of my Bluebelle eggs in their incubator tell me that when they candled them the other day, 11 out of 14 "had summat in em", and when I candled my 10 last night, I think that 8 of them "had summat in em", so if you want to try some Bluebelle eggs ........................................

I know, I know ..... don't count your chickens before they hatch!!!!!
My girls found their way into my heart and now they nest there

Day three and still no sign of a broody, wonder if I should let the eggs pile up rather than leave just the 5 there.....

The Buff Cochin hen I had for a while would go broody almost 'to order'. I just needed to show her a nest with eggs in!
The fact that she was at least 4 when I got her may have had something to do with it.....

If you have no broody by now then it will be too late if she goes anyway. They usuallu have to have been broody for at least 2 weeks to feel able to "take on" new chicks. So it's the heat lamp and hand rearing for you, I'm afraid. Fun though!

Thanks for that. I knew it was a long shot but did think it was worth a try.
