  • Honeysuckle berries?

Our chooks are showing a lot of interest in honeysuckle berries. I have heard they are poisonous, but these chooks seem very discerning. They won't eat rowan berries or rose hips for instance but love raspberries, in fact all soft fruit.
We don't want to chase them away from something they enjoy if it isn't going to harm them.

I'm pretty sure they won't eat anything poisinous, not unless they are very confined and underfed and will eat anything!!
I dare say someone will know more and can advise.

Wild birds eat them with no ill effects, and I find that generally an animal or bird won't try something that will harm them unless they have no other food at all.

Most "Lonicera Honeysuckle" are mildly poisonous, but "Lonicera Caerulea" is the exception, they have edible berries. And there berries are Blue.
