Yep Flum..............must add that to the wants list * Now what can I construct a barn from at the lottie, methinks*

PS I may have a bit of a swap around and lock them in the 'octagon' I may even construct a mezanine floor for them to increase surface area Loads of light and space for them there!

Well as you seem to be able to find or cadge just about anything free, I'm sure you can get hold of some nice dressed stone for a comfy little barn-ette!

Lottie dolly and OH built a Grow barn as they called it, a mix between a Green house and a barn made from pallets...

Never test the depth of the water with both feet

The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory....

On a more serious note - how about a polytunnel? You could put a smallish chook hut inside with a run.

Snadger, my next door neighbour at the buildings built a PT using short scaffold poles for uprights, with blue water pipe shoved in the top to form the arch. Wooden frame for door at on end. Still being built so I'm dying to see what he gets to cover it. My M-I-L keeps her bantys in their PT in winter. Ark at night and out on straw daytime. Works great and we're as far up as you, just on the other side of the country NW not NE lol.
PS in my youth me n my mate built a block of four looseboxes for horses using pallets and reclaimed shuttering ply as the basis, not quite a barn, but then we were both scared of heights
Anyone who says nothing is impossible has never tried slamming a revolving door
