  • Light Sussex sitting on fertile eggs......hopefully!

Light Sussex broody has just had five, blue, large fowl Lavender Araucana eggs placed under her tonight, 17th September 09!
There was originally six but postie used the package as a football methinks!
    Packaging was carp though!

Let's just hope the young Laydee broody has something to show for it in the end

Good luck Snadge. Let's hope the rest of the eggs weren't shaken up too much either.

        Fingers crossed Snadger.
All my eggs had arrived safely till the day I got some cream legbar. The box was ok, but marked, and two eggs were well squashed. Sods law.

2 were clear anyway but the other two didnt hatch but were fully developed (if you follow that) But this was the batch where everything went wrong, and I had 1/3rd of the total developed but not hatched.
Also Im only learning, there were no instructions with the inci (ebay 2nd hand) and i dont have a hygrothingy yet.
So I would say youve got a pretty good chance One of my other boxes came battered but eggs intact and they did OK. If you get a choice ask for special delivery, apparently it doesnt go in the 'drag.n.drop' post but is hand processed, much better for the important ones

Good luck Snadger! Now, since getting my girls, who are looking very healthy and laying!!!!! I said to myself I would get no more than 12 (have 8 at the moment) and would not have a go at hatching eggs, either with a broody or an inc. I know I was telling fibs and I know I will try it. It's all your fault! Well, that's what I'll tell the hubby!
