    Tick,

I reckon your chooks will love blackberries.

Mine are little bantams and I've been cutting a raspberry in half and putting on a good big blob of Flubenvet and replacing the other half of raspberry. I make 4 raspberry sandwiches for 3 girls cos one girl always nicks a sarnie from one of the others.

Chickens obviously don't have the same sense of taste as us cos those raspberries are very very sharp to my taste.

I mixed the 2kg, on tuesday and they are already through 80% of it.

However taking on board the comments here, I have switched to pasta and fluvenvet, gobbled up in 0.1 seconds flat

Out of interest, if she has gapeworm, how long should it be before I start to see a difference in her....

and are eggs infected? are they safe to eat

            Tick,

The eggs are safe to eat from the Flubenvet pov.

If you are asking whether it is possible for the egg to have a worm in it, then I believe the answer is yes, it is possible, but very unusual and rare.

Even if the egg did have a worm in it, provided it is cooked through the worm will be killed and therefore cause no harm. In any case, I don't believe humans can contract avian worms.

quick update on Omlet, her tail feathers were pointing up this morning (which is a good sign) as they have been pointing down during her off period.

the most noticable thing, is that Henna is still picking on her a bit, but she actually stuck up for herself yesterday and chased her away (a hopeful sign she is feeling better???)

they have been on the fluenvet since Monday,

                  hi all,

I am still having a problem with omlet.

She is still having her head shaking, she still looks down and is still wandering around away from the others. She sits away from the others

We have wormed her, she has had some of the wellbeing/seaweed tonic

she seemed to pick up a couple of days after the worming, but it didnt last

                  any ideas

Maybe she has an ear infection? Look at the thread about Lily. If so she would need antibiotics. If you're really worried could you take her to the vet? She seems to have been unwell for a while now. Do hope she's ok for you.

Does sound a bit like Lily doesn't it??
Can't see that antibiotics would do any harm...certainly worth a try..why not give your vet a ring and ask for some Baytril ( my tablets are actually for cats- but much easier than putting it in drinking water- esp now yours are used to getting yummy treats!)
Lily's side of the face looking at the floor was warmer than the other side..read my thread!

fingers crossed you get it sorted soon!

                          HI Nicos,

She didnt seem quite as bad as yesterday, I read the thread on Lily, but she isnt holding her head to one side.

I am going to take my camera up and try and post a link to a video clip (if I can)

she still had that strange head movement...i am worried, especially since we have to go away again next week for a family funeral....I have been told that the local vet really doesnt have any knowledge of chickens but another poss has, so I will call and speak with them

My OH went up yesterday and said she seemed fine, she is still laying - but again this morning she was at her corkscrew again

Her comb is not red, but tinged a sort of blacky colour

Is it worth another dosing of fluenvet??

                              HI all,

The very very kind lady from the BHWT has just come out to take a look at Omlet for me. it seems her crop is very large but squiggy, so she feels it could be a sour crop?

She has also recommend a vet around 10 miles away who deal with chickens so I am going over there for the evening surgery

She also said she seems quite thin, well, when you pick her up she feels as the others do, but heavier but that is her crop I would imagine

So off to the vets and I will report back to you
