  • 4 weeks on

We have had our girls now 4 weeks, not sure where the weeks(and plants) have gone watching the girls in the garden.

we choose the girls on looks, not breeds, but i don't thing they are what we where told!

We were told it was a Wyandotte, but am sure its a Cochin Partridge or a Columbian Brahmas. its small Bantam type with feathered legs, very friendly and the boss and the only egg layer so far.
are Cochins bantam Size and Brahmas Chicken size?.

Black Rock has no rusty/orange head and neck colouring, shes just Black, largest Bantam long legged-any ideas?, o and mad

the third is a Welsummer and is one, i think

    Thanks

Cochins are massive weighing in at around 14lb - the smaller version sometimes called the cochin bantam is actually the pekin bantam - not related to the cochin at all.

Won't be a wyandotte they don't have feathery feet - google partridge pekin and see if it looks like that. failing that post piccies and we will see!!

Brahmas Bantam or Large fowl have the same sort of comb as wyandottes, Pekins (which look like mini cochins to me) have the traditional Kellogs comb...
