  • My sanity has been salvaged!...

    by mike and jenny.

I would love to say a big thanks to those who answered my post about the wonky legged chickens.

But especially to mike and jenny who brought me the most beautiful blue hen and cockerel. As orpingtons go, they are fabulous and feel sturdier and more fleshy than the ones I have had recently. They are both settling in with the bantams until they are big enough to cope with the 'grown up' girls.

I have to admit I am wondering how he might get along with Maureens Jersey giants next year.

Looking at him scrat and get about I feel so much better about the birds in my garden now. Mr P is very pleased too, keeps telling me so. I might tell him I get the gist of what he is saying if it doesn't stop by the end of the week.
So thanks again, it was lovely to meet you all

Eco-chick, I'll post some pics tomorrow. I took some yesterday, downloaded to computer, thought I was being clever and wiped the memory card and had a big 'puter crash. So I'll take some new pics in the morning.
The funniest thing is when one of the modern game squares up to him, if I can get that, it'd be funny to see.
And Jenny, no probs, your two are lovely thanks again, they are settling in nicely. Though Maureen called them darby and joan today, I think i'll have to give them proper names. Something strong and virile lol

call one "transit" as in coq au vin........... lets see who knows that joke...
or what about bonny and clyde?

let us know what you call them.

we had great trouble naming the ferrets, but then we feel that regardless of what they end up being called, they are always referred to in the house as "stinking weasel one" and "stinky weasel two"

We had one of the contractors working on the school kitchens who had a little red van. It had a small, properly sign-written notice calling it Van Rouge!

I really can't stick with darby and joan lol and didn't bonnie and clyde end up dead?
I'll work on it, I am letting their personalities come through. Although I am sure Mr P will end up calling him Zeus or something ;p
I haven't had chance to sort the pics yet. I have the flu and will sort out pics asap.

I'll let you know when we finally name the blues. They are more gorgeous by the day.
