One girl, Topaz, like to sit on my shoulder. I held my camera up and pointed it backwards a few weeks ago and got a pic of the chicken and my hair! It's on the chook blog entitled Pieces of Eight!

Madge hopped onto the open door of the coop. I don't know if she intended shimmying along the roof or hopping on to my shoulder, but I panicked in case she jumped up onto the fence and made a break for freedom, so I grabbed her and stuffed her into the coop.

Such unladylike squawking from one so young and lovely

They seem to really enjoy gentle stroking and petting when they are in the coop and/or on their perch but still shy a way a bit when they are outside if I touch them (unless their beaks are in the corn dish).

Hmmm another human converted into a chook slave Careful as you go otherwise you'll be hatching chooks within 12 months of getting your first girls

Not until the eggs are auto-sexed methinks

Somehow a lot of coops and runs seem to have appeared on my eBay watch list for some strange reason though

my OH did not want anything to do with my allotment, then I got the chucks, and he goes up every day to collect eggs - he even strimmed by borders for me

He keeps telling me they are an expensive food source, but I know he loved to go up and check on them, he has even taken to move the run and give them corn

not bad for someone that wanted nothing to do with the allotment!!!!

Well it's not the lottie he's interested in is it?

Play your cards right and you could get him to double dig your beds (to make them more comfortable for the chooks tender toes)
