They're contagious I think..quite a few of us seem to have caught them lately.
If mine were laying you could have some eggs to hatch, never mind.

I've got my heart set on some Croad Langshan eggs next year!Pinkish/plum eggs, docile hens(good for the kiddies.....and me!)and the boys get pretty huge so ideal dual purpose bird!....tis what I shall tell Andi when trying to justify the price of the hatching eggs!!!

Bephlam had some Olive coloured eggs to hatch...I think they were a Maran/Aracauna cross.

look for a thread started by Snadger in the last month or 2 as I seem to remember it went off on a tangent but the tangent covered coloured eggs and the breeds

The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory....

Green/blue egg layers - silver black dorking, cream legbar, araucana,

White eggs, - dorking, dorbar, leghorn, houdan, gold legbar, white star.

Dark brown eggs - Copper maran, barnvelder, wellsummer.

Creamy eggs/ pale tinted - indian game, sussex, wyandotte, silkie, cochin

Normal egg coloured eggs - rhode island red, warren, hybrid layers.

Olive eggs - Wernlas olive, fenton blue and shortly the bramble version!!!

Pink eggs - croad langshan - not they are truley pink they are normal pale tinted egg overlaid with a pink/plumy hue which can vary from quite pale and unoticable to quite dark.

Hope that helps some - obvioulsy by no means an exhaustive list but still its a good few of the main breeds
