  • how do you tell young hens/cockerels apart?

We have 4 light sussex/ rhode island mixed (triple crosses) 2 are brown 2 are amber type. How can you tell the boys from the girls/ they are 3 months old.

      Tails, combs/wattles and legs.

Cocks - More/faster development in the comb/wattles, longer tail growing downwards, longer legs. Pointy hackle feathers.

Girls - Small combs, tails sticking up, slightly shorter legs, smaller feet.

As always, depends on the breed, but these I what I go for as basic pointers.
