        Here we are

        Here's chickenopolis:

The girls LOVE it! They were pecking at Drew's fingers when he was making the opening. Drew has done a fantastic job. Also, Ive ordered another outside run which should be arriving within the next few days. Lucky girls!
PS I have removed the string that was hanging into the floor so the girls don't try to eat it.

I've read somewhere that chickens and greenhouses go well together as the heat generated keeps the plants warm. I think the idea is that you put their perching under the staging. Quite how you stop them eating the plants I don't know, but this is one of those self sufficiency ideas which is supposed to give you free heating whilst protecting your flock. The first year we lived here we didn't have a shed, so put our bunny's hutch in the greenhouse, he was fine, but I was a little worried about damp as there was always a fair bit of condensation on cold mornings.

                Try this

                  Chickenopolis mark 3

Here is a photo of the additional run Drew has attached to the other side of the original run:

As usual, Fanny was the first to investigate! The girls now have the run of their original run, the greenhouse, and the new run. Lucky girls! And a huge "Thank you" to Drew for all his hard work.

Three of mine are in the greenhouse with the remains of the tomato plants. I've stripped the foliage back as its supposedly poisonous but they wait for a hanging tomato to ripen before attacking it.
Eventually I am going to build an outdoor area for them as well................but flaming work is getting in the way just now!

The problem with glass is that my Light Sussex, which I reared from an egg always comes running when she sees me and 'splats' against the glass. She still doesn't see the greenhouse glass as a boundary!

Whereas yours is chuckingham palace Bernie..............mine has more of the downtown Soweto look about it..............hence the reason you aint getting any piccies!

                          Snadger,

What about putting some X shaped masking tape on the glass to prevent your light Sussex from spreading her beak all over it

Don't let your girls tell mine what Drew's done for 'em. I don't want mine sulking
