As with most things - you can go too far...

Some things are best left alone - including your sister.

Please don't get all heated about my post peeps.

I'm sorry if I offended some peeps- and thanks for those who supported me.

I just think - in the greater scheme of things- that we need to look at any prospective babies we create.

Yup- they are 'our babies'- sorry if it offends peeps- but , although I am a trained scientist, I consider it easier to relate to the more easily recognised chooks rather than F1 , F2 etc etc...to be honest- that's one of the reasons I wanted to leave the UK.....communication is surely more important at a non academic level than scientific labeling that 90% of the population don't understand????

.....my babies are my babies.....and they are lovely ( even in the pot!)..every one to their own eh??

Your VIEW is what is in your mind. Your COMMENT is what the rest of us see. I respond to COMMENTS because VIEWS can only be deduced, and that may be inaccurate, for a variety of reasons.

I presume that the poster meant views as in the number of listed views of the post rather than their particular view but to be honest I can't see that it matters that much. Personally I find lots of termanology (sp?) which people use on this forum (and others) to be somewhat odd or unusual but then again we're all different and I don't see any need to get het up over it.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Alison - thanks. That's exactly what I meant.

I'm not coming back into this thread again though as this is becoming a complete and utter joke. Not the funny kind either.

                Oh for goodness sake!!!
We've all got our own views, some may seem a little extreme to others. Is it really necessary to get so blinkin' personal?!
I have a totally non scientific mind, therefore am grateful to Nicos for starting a thread using terminology that one as thick as I can understand...not insinuating Nicos that you are as thick as I!...Queries that I will no doubt have, come next year, have been answered, which at the end of the day is what this forum is all about.
The majority of us on Rule the Roost look on our Girls(& boys!)as pets...that may seem daft to some....and I admit, incredibly inpractical when you end up with a couple of boys...but it's the way it is & is there really anything wrong with that?

Can we please be nice to each other - whether we are related or not.

                    Thanks

Or if you can't be nice, at least be civil.

I wish someone had reported this thread as getting a little tense...

Organic, I think it's a good idea if you steer clear of the thread. I can't understand why you felt the need to get so involved when you don't even own any poultry Rule the Roost is generally a very relaxed and friendly place, and I'm sure the regular posters would prefer it to stay that way.

Nicos hun, I hope you got the answer you needed, I must admit that B-P's excellent answer confused me, so it's a good job I'm not breeding chooks

No worries B-P, I think if I wrote it down as a family tree type of diagram, it might make sense But I'm a long way from even getting pullets, never mind breeding

yeah we keep family trees of all of our birds - rather like a pedegree chart for dogs!! It helps us remember who is who!!

It whizzed above my comprehension levels too, but I didn't trouble my lil head about it cos there isn't going to be any granpappy, pappy or brother messing with my maidens.

I mean, they're not even engaged, so no nooky!
