Frias...another idea we had when we thought we'd not be able to eat our own....have since convinced ourselves that other than Boo,we can......was to give them as early Christmas pressies!Obviously they'd still need culling, but at least their life wasn't a wasted one!

      Major attitude problem!!!

Yesterday was the day we finally got Boo & Roo to the lottie.
Plan A was that Dandelion would say Bye~Bye to her babies at about 5 or 6 weeks...as she did last time....she must have known we wanted her to!
Well, plan B was to try popping them in the big run with the teens(who are now in their twenties)& Dandelion & her babes...they often have supervised runs with the big girls.
Poor Roo was descended upon by the two Legbar girls & a Norfolk Grey, followed by a rather long cuddle on my lap, refusing to get off poor gal.
Boo on the other hand went straight for Dandelion & ripped a hole in her comb!(OK it was just a nick...but I think he intended more!)Once we'd separated them he strutted around the run looking for more!So we popped just the two of them in the chick run....he went straight to the fence that joins with the BIG boys & tried to pick another fight!

I'd say the moral of this story is...if you want a feisty chook, cross a Maran with a Norfolk Grey!
the fates lead him who will;him who won't they drag.
