  • Fireworks & Chooks

the local numpties have started setting fireworks off even during the day (WHY) will the girls be ok if they are out or will I have to start locking them up for the duration.....

Mine are on my allotment and I've never done anything different in the years I've had them. There are houses and flats round all 4 sides of the site so I imagine it must get quite loud. I don't recall any drop in egg numbers around bonfire night either. See what their reaction is to the fireworks but I'd think if they were scared enough they'd run for cover the way they do when birds of prey come overhead.
Like you I can NEVER understand the mentality of those who let them off in daylight!

No idea cos we don't get fireworks round here- well only for the occasional festival..and New Year- but I've not had my chooks for a year yet.

They could continue for another month ya know...it's a bit long to be locked up!

Today's the start of Diwali - the Hindu Festival of Light. I can't remember how long it goes on for.
