All of ours are scruffy little beggers at the mo, looks like a feather pillow fight has gone wrong in the sheds.

I wonder if cockerels molt? I have four, including a Faverolle which are 8 months old and not a feather out of place?

I don't think they moult till they're over a year old Snadge, they're still hooligans at 8 months

OK- sorry but it's taken me that long to see properly!!!!

Mine were nothing like as bad as that- just looked a bit of a tatty mess- certainly no skin showing- yours look like someone's played a practical joke on you...poor little things- they must be feeling the cold???

My lads have moulted a bit too- mostly noticed that all their long tail feathers dropped out- they looked like Hiawatha when they were wandering around strutting their last plume!

I was going to post a thread today to say how sexy my gals are looking suddenly- lovely new feathers- they're suddenly looking fluffy again instead of sporting a 'cardboard' looking coat . Their new frilly knikers look really snug!

Hope your gals feathers grow back quickly...poor things!

Glad you all find my poor girls affliction so funny. She's looking worse today, I can't bring myself to pick any of them up...they feel horrible!!

They're definitely ashamed of the state of their normally gorgeous feathers. Noticed they hide if someone comes to the house, or the post man pops round the back etc. lol

Poor girls...still, it's a sign of a good layer if they moult quickly and thoroughly.
